Share the Spotlight is hosting two workshops for students who are auditioning for performing arts high schools in December.
The workshops take place Monday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Tacony Lab, 6918 Torresdale Ave. Each one begins at 7 p.m.
On Monday, students will learn about the audition requirements for Philadelphia public schools, and what to expect at an audition. The program also covers general audition practices and information on how to select appropriate material.
On Tuesday, students can perform their audition piece and receive feedback from a panel of experienced judges in a mock audition. A piano accompanist will be present. Both events are free, and students can attend one or both. Reservations are appreciated but not required.
Share the Spotlight is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group entering its fourth year in Philadelphia. The group’s flagship initiative is a free summer music program for teens in the city.
